1. What type of boat they have or would like slipped What size boat can you guys carry

(Max. 6T boat weight, 4.5mtr height once loaded and 3.5mtr beam), if its an unusual (often timber) style we may ask for an ‘out of water’ picture or ask that the back of the keel be marked clearly on the gunnel, however Porta Slip has a large database of spec’s to suit most makes and models.

2. What are Porta Slips usual delivery range?

Porta Slip works within the boundaries of Port Macquarie and Batemans Bay.
Work outside these boundaries upon consultation only.

3. How do you get my boat onto your trailer ?

5. Do you do interstate?

Porta Slip specializes in local NSW transport, however special interstate orders may be considered upon request. Porta Slip can also recommend specialized interstate transport companies if asked.

6. How do you deliver, and how can we make it easy and save$:

Inform customer of delivery details (must be able to reverse a 12mtr truck & trailer combo into location, e.g. cannot deliver to an inner city lane way) and surface required to roll a slip cradle once on customers site (cannot unload a slip cradle on a steep uphill gradient).

7. Can I keep the cradle for long periods at a time?

 Long term rental agreements are available and are commonly utilized for restorations and major defects e.g. Osmosis or collision repairs.

8. Can you Porta Slip a yacht?

Absolutely, special yacht slip cradles and attachments have been designed to suit most designs up to 30ft.

9. Can I anti-foul at home on your slip cradle?

Absolutely, Porta Slip offers a very competitive option to using conventional slipway’s. In most cases you can spend up to 4 wks working at your own leisure in your own surroundings catching up on all the required repairs/servicing for approx. the same cost of 2 days on a conventional waterside slipway.

10. What is the best time to use PortaSlip?

Porta Slip operates 7 days during the winter months (May – Sept), however weekend work in summer (Oct – Apr) needs to be carefully planned and sometimes is just not possible due to heavy ramp traffic.

11. Do you have any storage for my boat whilst its on a slip cradle?

Porta Slip can recommend a number of locations that accommodate owner repairs whilst on Porta Slip cradle’s.

12. Ok, We love the PortaSlip concept How do we do business and what is the PortaSlip process?

  1. Help us learn about your vessel…Complete a Porta Slip data sheet, referencing drive train e.g. shaft drive vs. stern drive, approx. weight, flybridge vs. sedan…

  2. We ask you, the customer where the vessel is moored and delivery address/suburb.

  3. We ask you, the customer whom will be delivering the boat to the mutually agreed boat ramp and signing delivery docket/invoice at the final location. Together we agree on a slipping time and location. Slipping time depends upon the tide and ramp condition, Porta Slip have a database of boat ramps up & down the NSW coast with a continual update of its usability status.

  4. If the above questions and answers are suitable to both the customer and Porta Slip, then a diary note will be entered and a confirmation phone call will be made the day before also informing customer that all over height components e.g. radar, aerials etc preferably should be removed whilst the vessel is still on the water (OH&S issue once vessel is loaded onto trailer).

  5. Upon delivery to the customers location, balance of transport costs and 1 weeks cradle hire is payable.
